Northern Ireland losing its religious tribalism? May 16th 2012, 18:50 Let's hope so. It looks encouraging. http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/ne...-16159289.html Quote: Teenagers are forging friendships across the religious divide in Northern Ireland as never before, according to new research published today. A survey of 16-year-olds reveals that just one in five (22%) has no friends from the other main tradition compared to one in three (33%) in 2003, when the annual study first got under way. Young people are also socialising more with those of a different ethnic background. Almost half (48%) quizzed in 2006 said that all their friends were of the same race or ethnic group compared to just 26% today. The results are in the latest Young Life and Times Survey, a joint initiative by Queen's University and the University of Ulster. | | |
